I had an adjustable rate mortgage with Washington Mutual starting at 7.4% and adjusting every 6 months up to 13.4%. When it got to 9.4% my payment was $1,139 a month and I also had a second mortgage with a monthly payment of $332.81. I was a nervous wreck every 6 months wondering if it would go up again.
